وَلَقَدْ أَرْسَلْنَا إِلَىٰ أُمَمٍ مِنْ قَبْلِكَ فَأَخَذْنَاهُمْ بِالْبَأْسَاءِ وَالضَّرَّاءِ لَعَلَّهُمْ يَتَضَرَّعُونَ

Già inviammo [profeti] alle comunità che ti hanno preceduto, poi le colpimmo con avversità e afflizioni, affinché divenissero umili.
